Metropolitan Archbishop, Orthodox Church of America and Dependencies, METROPOLITAN ARCHEPARCHY OF ST. NICHOLAS IN THE UNITED STATES Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the United States
His Eminence was born November 1951, in the USA, he received his theological training at St John Vianney Minor Seminary in Miami, Florida and at St Mary's Seminary & University in Baltimore, Maryland. He was ordained to Minor Orders in 1974 for the former Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of Toledo, Ohio & Dependencies by Metropolitan +MICHAEL (Shaheen). His Eminence participated in the 1975 "Holy Year" in Rome in 1975 with Pope Paul VI, travelled throughout Europe and visited with the late Archbishop Marcel LeFebvre.
In 1982 he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate and Holy Priesthood for the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (under the 1924 Tome of Ecumenical Patriarch Gregorius VII of Constantinople) following his marriage in 1981. For his service to the Church, in 1986 he was elevated to the dignity of Mitred Archpriest. He and his Presbytera have four sons and have served the Antiochian Orthodox and Ukrainian Orthodox Churches in Central Florida and in Central Ohio since 1987.
In 1997 Archpriest Michael was invited to meet Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I when he was visiting the United States; and, also served for many years in "grassroots" ecumenism with the Eastern Rite Melkites and Ruthenians in Columbus, Ohio...with ecclesiastical approbation.
On September 1986 at Saint Ignatius Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Orlando, Florida, His Eminence was consecrated as a Bishop and elevated Metropolitan Archbishop during the Hierarchical Divin Liturgy for the Orthodox Church of America – UAOC.
On the 15th of August 2002, the President of the Holy Governing Synod of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the United States confirmed the Canonicity of the Episcopal Consecration of Metropolitan +MICHAEL and inclusion in the Diptychs of UAOC. On the 15th of April 2024, His Beatitude +AMVROSIJ (Dolgorouky), Metropolitan +CHRISTOPHROS (Contogeorge) and Primate of the Joint Synod of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the United States and former Exarchate of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and confirmed that Metropolitan +MICHAEL is listed in the Dyptychs.
His Eminence Metropolitan Archbishop +MICHAEL, Primate is the President of the Holy Synod of OCA-UAOC. As Primate, he has been responsible for overseeing the entire Orthodox Church of America and continue to work to strengthen the Church of America and all the Dependencies.

Metropolitan Archbishop of London, Great Britain & the Arab Province
His Eminence Metroplan Archbishop George was born in the Middle East into a deeply rooted Orthodox traditional family. This upbringing heavily shaped his later path. In the late 80's he travelled to the USA where he read theology at Saint Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary. His Eminence holds a Master's Degree in Divinity. He also holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from Cornell University as well and a Doctorate Degree in Theology.
On the 22nd of April 1991, the Vigil service feast of Saint George the Great Martyr, he formally took the monastic vows in accordance to the Eastern Rite. On the 23rd of April 1991, he was ordained to the Holy Deaconate. On the 23rd of April 1992, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood where he served in many parishes in the USA. In August 1994 he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite.
In June 1995 he was consecrated a Titular Bishop. In 1998, Bishop GEORGE was asked to take on reinvigorating the missionary work in Eastern Africa. His mission was to create a strong Christian community mission work and education system in this part of the world. In 2005, he established a missionary school in Elegu, a town in Northern Region of Uganda. It sits across the international border from the town of Nimule, South of Sudan. In an effort to aid the children who lost their parents during the civil war, Bishop GEORGE founded in 2014, an Orphanage in Juba, South of Sudan The Orphanage took care of 52 children and sheltered displaced women. Working in Africa, Bishop GEORGE had the opportunity to work closely with many International Humanitarian Organizations and was successful in the many projects he was overseeing.
In 2016, after serving many years in Central Equatoria and East Africa where he worked closely with Refugees’ Camps, Orphanages and Field Hospitals, Bishop George left Africa leaving a legacy through his efforts to assimilate with the indigenous Christians and empower them to embrace Christianity as their own. Bishop GEORGE moved to the United Kingdom to continue his mission and work in the vineyard of our Lord.
On Sunday April 1st 2018, Bishop GEORGE founded the Companions of Christ Orthodox Christian Fellowship. Its primary objective is to fully promote inter-Orthodox dialogue in order to achieve unity in the Orthodox Church, to consolidate efforts and support the initiatives of Orthodox Christians aimed at its development, to promote the expansion of the Christian faith and Eastern Orthodox doctrine, to be involved in charitable work, and the defence of Orthodox Christian traditions, to play a crucial role in preserving and defending the Orthodox Christian faith and traditions, to engage in charitable work and humanitarian efforts, providing support to those in need, to be engaged with Orthodox theological studies and discussions. One of its main purpose is to produce innovative, high-quality research and insights into the rich tapestry and complex dynamics of Orthodox Christian cultures and societies, past and present. This is achieved through a range of research projects, scholarly collaborations, conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic publications. In August 2019, His Eminence was Elevated to the rank of Metropolitan.
In 2022, He was awarded by the Sovereign Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta the Ukrainian Relief Medal of Honour in recognition to his aid and support to the refugees of Ukraine.
On the 27th of August 2023, His Eminence was received into the Orthodox Church of America and Dependencies, Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, given the title Archbishop of London & Great Britain, Metropolitan of the Arab Province
Metropolitan George is proficient in: English, Arabic, Berber, Patristic Greek, Classical Hebrew and Aramaic.
